About

Cartess Ross Move Abroad and Thrive Publisher

Yo ... I'm a simple guy whose been living in Merida for the last 2-years with my family. Like most, I was excited with the idea of living abroad and made the decision to just do it.

I stumbled and made lots of mistakes and had to figure many things out on my own. My family endured 2 unexpected life threatening emergency surgeries here. I was locked up in a Mexican jail for 2 1/2 days (not pleasant at all). And my daughter was diagnosed with schizophrenia; which forced us to learn how to navigate the medical system here.

Adjusting to a new life abroad ain't as simple, fun and entertaining as it appears on YouTube and Facebook feeds. It's a painful and enduring process to acclimate to new cultural norms, while letting yours go. Many people can't do it and most return home within their first 3, 6, or 9 months.

My goal with Move Abroad and Thrive is to educate and help people plan for their new life abroad. I want you to have a successful transition and that's what this website is all about.

Thank you for putting this website and all your You Tube videos together. All information you have given has put a lot of my concerns to rest. With all the information combined together, in my note taking. My move and transition to Yucatan area should be a lot smoother. Your information has been a blessing.

After a year of watching Cartess on Youtube my husband and I have finally completed our scouting visit in Merida. We found our apartment and will be finalizing our rental contract with a notary in two weeks. Cartess thank you so much for inspiring us!!!

Thank you so much for your detailed response! My wife and I have 3 teens, 2 girls (15 & 19) and a boy (17). It is important for us to have them be involved in the choices we make in the moving process.
