Explore the City of Merida and View Homes & Rentals

Merida is freakin' awesome and you'll do yourself an injustice sticking only to the areas where most of the expats choose to live! If you're looking for someone to take you around the city to show you the different sides of town, I'm happy to do that.

This day out is primarily to show you the different parts of the city to get an idea and feel for the various areas to live. Some people want to live in the 'suburbs', while others wanna stay downtown (Centro), while others want to live with the 'locals'.

We can customize this tour to fit your specific needs. Oftentimes, our clients want to look at properties for sale, or see a few rentals so they can get an idea of what they can get for their money. We can get you into a few privadas (gated communities) or check out properties for investment options.

Wanna see a couple of beach towns near Merida? We can do that too. Whatever your needs are, we can custom-fit this tour to your specifications.

Here's a brief list of expectations so you're not thrown off..

  • This type of tour is not to take you to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, pick-up meds, house shopping (This is not a tour of homes for you to find a place to live or sign a lease, you'll need to sign-up for our relocation services for that).
  • We don't do touristy trips (Cenotes, pyramids, other cities, etc.), but if you wish to see what it's like to live in Progreso, or another beach-town (within 20-miles), we'll go.
  • These daily tours last no longer than 4-hours.
  • If you're rude, abusive or offensive to locals, the trip ends immediately, and there will be no refunds. We ask that you simply be nice and courtesy to others, no matter how frustrated you get (it's easy to get frustrated when you don't know the language - it happens more often than you think, which is why I bring it up here).

If this sounds like something you're interested in, go ahead and make your purchase and we'll get a date scheduled to connect and meet-up.

*Out of this fee, I pay real estate agents for their time. Since you all are not renting or buying, but solely looking to get an idea of what you can get for your money, I feel it's only fair to pay them for their time.

*Our busy months kick-off March-August. If you're interested, book now to secure your spot. I only take on 3 of tours per month.

Thank you for putting this website and all your You Tube videos together. All information you have given has put a lot of my concerns to rest. With all the information combined together, in my note taking. My move and transition to Yucatan area should be a lot smoother. Your information has been a blessing.

After a year of watching Cartess on Youtube my husband and I have finally completed our scouting visit in Merida. We found our apartment and will be finalizing our rental contract with a notary in two weeks. Cartess thank you so much for inspiring us!!!

Thank you so much for your detailed response! My wife and I have 3 teens, 2 girls (15 & 19) and a boy (17). It is important for us to have them be involved in the choices we make in the moving process.
